North Wellington briefs: Mapleton offers Easter activities

MAPLETON – The township recreation department is hosting a morning of free Easter activities at the PMD arena in Drayton on April 9. 

The event for children from JK to Grade 5 will run from 10 to 11:30am.

Youth ball hockey

MINTO – A youth ball hockey program is being offered by the Town of Minto beginning the week of April 14.

Youngsters in four age categories: U7, U9, U11 and U13 are invited to register teams of up to seven players for league play on Thursday evenings at the Harriston arena.

Games will be four on four contests (three runners, one goalie) and will consist of two 12-minute straight time periods. Cost is $120 per team. Teams can register online at town.minto.on.ca/kids-ball-hockey-league.

Spring craft show

WELLINGTON NORTH – The Mount Forest Agricultural Society is hosting a spring craft show on April 9.

The event, which will run from 9am to 3pm at the Mount Forest Sports Complex, will feature a wide range of vendors offering products ranging from handmade cards to jewelry and leatherwork.

Easter Scramble

HARRISTON – An Easter Scramble for youngsters, hosted by Harriston Rising, will be held here on April 16.

Parents are invited to bring their children to the event, to be held at the Harriston Legion from 11am to 2pm, and follow along as they create Easter crafts.

Participants will receive a make and take kit to take home and a hot dog lunch will be provided for families.

The event is aimed at children 10 and under. Pre-registration on Eventbrite is required. More details can be found on the Harriston Rising Facebook page.
