HARRISTON – The Minto Chamber of Commerce has announced the latest expansion of Minto’s cultural landscape.

On April 4, downtown Harriston officially welcomed Michael Terry Antiques & Nostalgia with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Despite the rainy weather, the atmosphere was one of high energy and anticipation, states a press release.

Enthusiastic customers were seen queuing outside well before the doors opened, eager to get the first look at the curated treasures within, the release continued.

The grand opening was attended by local dignitaries and community leaders who gathered to welcome the newest venture.

“We are delighted to see such a unique and high-quality nostalgia store choose Harriston as its home,” said Raisa Abrahim, business development coordinator, at the Minto Chamber of Commerce in a press release.

“Michael and Stella’s passion for preservation adds a vibrant new layer to our downtown experience.”

Michael Terry Antiques & Nostalgia co-owner Michael also owns an auto body business in Belmont. This allows him to meticulously restore some items to almost their original condition, officials say.

For Michael and his wife, Stella, the shop represents a lifelong passion turned “retirement project.”

The couple expressed excitement about joining the Minto business community, specifically highlighting the benefit of being situated near fellow antique and collectible vendors.

“We absolutely enjoy finding unique pieces,” stated Stella in a press release.

“It is wonderful to be part of a community where there is such an appreciation for history and collectibles.”

The new shop is located at 34 Elora Street in Harriston and operates Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30am to 4pm.
