M&M Red Nose Day brings cheer to locals

Red noses were the order of the day Feb. 3, as the M&M Meat Shop here helped celebrate the 21st anniversary of Red Nose Day.

The event started as a means to help beat the winter blues and brighten the day with a dose of laughter.

For more than two decades, M&M Meat Shops Red Nose Day has helped put a smile on Canadians’ faces during one of the toughest winter months.

This year, franchisees at more than 400 locations across Canada wore red noses to entertain customers.

“Canadian winters can be cold and dreary and we want to give Canadians something to smile about,” said M&M founder Mac Voisin.  “Laughter really is the best medicine.”

Locally, franchisee Aileen Hawkins agrees.

Having operated the franchise for 17 years, Hawkins said,  “It’s all about having some fun in the middle of winter and giving people a smile.”
