Minor Atom Fusion end regular season

The Centre Wellington Fusion Minor Atom AA team had a busy Christmas, participating in the Silver Sick tournament held in Stratford.

The team played exceptionally competitive; they left it all on the ice but were unable to get the last win to get them into the finals, official say.

On Jan. 2, the Fusion travelled to Niagara Falls for a double header. In the first game, the team battled hard against the strong Flyer team. The game ended in a 3-3 tie. Points for Fusion were earned by Eddie McDonald (2G), Zander Pereira (1G), Nathan Long (2A), Josh Tosh (1A), Liam McCracken (1A), Ryan McDougall (1A). In the second game, Fusion was unable to put the puck past the Flyers net minder ending in a 2-0 loss.

On Jan. 14, the Fusion travelled to Halton Hills but were unable to get the win. Points for Fusion included, Kai Wycherley (1G), Eddie McDonald (1A), Zander Pereira (1A), Wyatt Marsland (1G) and Denver Feltham (1A).

On Jan. 17, Fusion hosted Halton Hills and were on a mission to redeem themselves from the previous loss. The Fusion came out strong with a quick 3-0 lead in the first period. The team kept the pressure on the strong Thunder team and skated away with a 6-4 win. Jacob Kirk played exceptional for Fusion with many big saves, officials say. Point-getters for the Fusion included Eddie McDonald with (4G), Denver Feltham (2A), Nolan Byrd (1A), Zander Pereira (2G), Brinley Wilson (1A).
