Man charged after window smashed, homeowners assaulted
Suspect found nearby after incident at Puslinch home on June 9
PUSLINCH – A Vancouver man faces several charges after two Puslinch homeowners were assaulted and a window of their home was smashed during a strange encounter here on Tuesday night.
Wellington County OPP officials say police were called to a Puslinch Township home on June 9 at about 8:15pm.
Police say the incident involved "a stranger breaking a window of a residence, assaulting both homeowners outside the residence, and then fleeing the scene prior to police arrival."
Neither homeowner was injured, police added.
OPP officers, with the assistance of the canine unit and Waterloo police, located a suspect nearby on Gore Road in Puslinch.
Mark Wilkinson, 58, of Vancouver, was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, mischief (destroy or damage property) and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
"The weapon used in this occurrence can't be disclosed as it's evidentiary in nature," police stated.
