FERGUS – Molly Wilson brought her show Molly’s Comedy Cabaret to the Fergus Grand Theatre on Feb. 28 as part of the theatre’s Presenting Series.

FERGUS – Dancers from Blue Bonnet Lassies School of Highland Dance attended the Western Ontario Highland Dancers Association  Tri-Cities competition on March 1. 

FERGUS – The Victoria Park Seniors Centre hosted the annual Active Living and Retirement show at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus on Feb. 28.

ELORA – Third time’s a charm! The Boo Radley Project’s annual curling tournament is back. Wellington County’s art-rock indie-funk septet, The Boo Radley Project, will be taking over the sheets at the Elora Curling Club for their third annual Boospiel curling tournament on March 15.

ELORA – The township will pay its own way as it cleans up an unoccupied building in downtown Elora that collapsed last week.

FERGUS – Patients had to be moved to a different wing, but no one was injured in a fire at Groves hospital on Sunday morning. Emergency crews responded to the hospital shortly after 7am on March 2.

ELORA – After vowing to go after Facebook commenters who have defamed or libelled the business, its owners and their family, Kat Florence Canada has started a fund to help others in the same boat.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Tobogganing is back on at Foote Park and Southridge Park in Elora, but there are still limitations at hills at Ferrier Park in Fergus.

FERGUS – He wasn’t quite the founding father of Fergus, but Jim Gibbons has a long history in the town and played a vital role in its growth and prosperity. His death, on Feb 15 at a Hamilton hospital, leaves a wake of sadness, but also a sense of pride and privilege from those who knew him.
