Ticket sales are now underway for the 2016 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo set to take place here in the fall.

For a limited time, advanced tickets will be available for $15 (they will be $17 at the gate). The tickets are redeemable for any one-day admittance to the match, and are available from now until Labour Day.

Tickets are available at the Town of Minto municipal office, the IPM Souvenir Store (located at Minto Auto Centre in Harriston and open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays), or at any of the promotional events planned for this the summer.

“They also make a great gift, especially for Father’s Day,” officials note.

IPM 2016, themed, “A Fresh Taste of Farming” will be held at the farm of Anne and Earl Schneider south of Harriston from Sept. 20 to 24.

The Plowing Match is the largest event of its kind in North America and it is expected to attract well over 75,000 people, transforming Harriston into a small city for the week.

“With over 600 exhibits, daily shows and some amazing food, there really is something for everyone,” organizers state.

Entertainment for the Wellington County IPM will include: the RCMP Musical Ride, Jousting Knights and a RAM Rodeo.

The Wellington County showcase will feature demonstrations ranging from pig butchery to wood carving and a 75-foot zip line.
