Groups offer youths business enterprise opportunity

The Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre, in partnership with the province, Northern Lights Canada and 2nd Chance Employment, is is offering Viable Youth Business Enterprise (VYBE) sessions in Mount Forest starting Aug. 13.

This pilot program will help future young entrepreneurs explore the process of building and running a business using a “Business for a Day” model.

The sessions aim to provide up to 10 youths (aged 15 to 29) the opportunity the explore entrepreneurship by developing a business that they run for one day.

Participants will receive support in the research and development of a business idea from an experienced business advisor with the Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre, assistance with the creation of an operational plan,  $10 in start-up capital, encouragement and coaching on “sale day” and guidance in the analysis of the results. Sessions run Aug. 13, 15 and 19 – with sale day on Aug. 17.
