Fusion tri-county champions

The Centre Wellington Fusion Bantam AE team are Tri-County champions for the second year in a row.

The Fusion dominated the series against the Guelph Gryphons, winning three straight games.

The Fusion hosted game one and they came out flying. The boys were able to find the back of Guelph’s net six times, winning 6-2.

In game two, the Fusion travelled to the Guelph barn. Within the first minute of the game, the Fusion scored. This fired up the boys and they continued to pressure the Gryphons. By the end of the third period, the Fusion had skated away with a 9-2 victory. Points for the Fusion came from Daniel Newton (2G, 3A), Connor MacMillan (2G) Justin Snowe (2G, 2A), Ryan Gemin (1G, 2A), Ty Needham (1G), Ethan Kosempel (1G, 1A), and Levi Humber (1A).

In game three of the series, Fusion was strong outshooting their opponent 43-20.

The Fusion won the championship by a score of 4-2, with points going to Ryan Gemin (1G), Koen Ashdown (1A), Eric Feltham (1G, 2A), Brandon Page (1G) and Brad Parkinson (1G). Goalies Julian Austin and Jacob Killinger played amazing in the series, officials say. The Fusion’s record for the season was an outstanding 44-8-8.
