Fusion Minor Midget team in OMHA quarter finals

The Centre Wellington Fusion Minor Midget AA team recently finished first in Ontario Minor Hockey Association  (OMHA) round robin play.  

The team finished with 12 points divided among six wins and two loses. The Fusion team now advances in the OMHA quarter final round against either Windsor or Tecumseh-Shorelines. The Fusion team beat Caledon twice, 1-0 and 7-0; Burlington twice, 6-3 and 5-3; split with Milton, winning 3-2 and losing 2-1; and splitting with Garden City, winning 2-1 and losing 1-0.

Carson Hebner and Ashton Martin were superb in net, officials say, each posting a 3-1 record and a goals against average of 1.50 goals per game. Martin posted both shutouts.

Points in the games went to (goals, assists): Nole Black (9,2), Tyler Young (3,6), Dean Sealey (3,5), Carlen Golding (6,1), Mitchell Bernier (2,5), Jake Cousineau (0,5), Trent Spear (0,5), James Graham (2,1), Jarret Eyamie (0,3), Kyle Harkins (0,3), Brock Hoelscher (0,1), Owen Ristov (0,1) and Zach Cribbin (0,1).

The team also had strong defensive play from Ben Shafer and Cole Shepherd.

The team is coached by: Jean-Paul Cousineau, Mark Martin, Rob Young and Dennis Black.

The team is managed by Dillon Bernier and help is offered from Danielle Shafer.
