The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 442 in Erin is hosting events to recognize the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

On April 9 at 2pm a service will take place at the Erin cenotaph, featuring the laying of a wreath by Marion Goegan, the niece of Hillsburgh’s Harold McConnell, who was killed at Vimy on April 9, 1917.

Following the service, there will be a reception at the Erin Legion (12 Dundas St. E.) that will include a presentation, music, videos, refreshments and a dozen displays on Vimy and WWI.
