FLORADALE 2 COMMUNITY 1
The first goal didn’t come until midway through the second period. Then a scramble at the Community net gave Floradale the lead. Tim Martin blasted a shot on net and Alex Martin was there to bury the rebound.
Floradale padded their lead later in the third. Alex Martin once again played the role of finisher with a wrist shot into the corner. Assists went to Javon Martin and Gary Martin.
Community edged into the game late in the period. Rick Brubacher successfully fought for the puck in the neutral zone, skated it to the net and slipped a shot under the goalie.
Community pulled their goaltender in the final minute for the extra skater but Floradale held on for the win.
BETHEL 3 LISTOWEL 3
Bethel scored the opening goal in the first period for the early lead. Justin Yutzi teed it up for Tom Schuurmans in the right side slot. A quick shot into the open corner resulted in the goal.
Listowel tied the game shortly after. Phil Shantz set up brother Josh for a wrap-around goal into the right corner.
Listowel took the lead before the period ended. Brad Gartz cut towards the right side of the net and then flipped the puck into the opposite side.
Bethel opened the third period with a goal to tie the game. Nathan Holland came in from behind the net and tucked the puck into the corner. Tyler Holland assisted.
Listowel took the lead late in the game. Brad Gartz crossed the blue line and blasted a slap shot through the legs of the defence to beat the goaltender with the screened shot, assisted by Travis Keupfer.
Bethel pulled their netminder in the final minute for the extra skater and were rewarded with the tying goal. A scramble at the net ended with Schuurmans poking the loose puck into the near side corner.
DRAYTON 8 MISSIONARY 0
Drayton scored midway through the first period. Darren Mohle sprang Jason Mohle away with the puck for a two-on-one rush. Eric Decker took the across the ice pass and snapped a hard shot along the ice to send the puck to the back of the net.
Drayton added a short handed goal early in the second period. Jason Mohle intercepted a clearing attempt and set up Decker with an open corner.
Decker waited for the goaltender to drop and flicked the puck into the top corner.
Drayton went on to add four more unanswered goals before the period ended. Joe Heenan scored twice, with single goals scored by Jason Mohle and Dave Mulder.
Assists were earned by Brad Bakker (2), Darren Mohle and Dave Mulder.
Drayton added two goals in the third period to put the game away. Heenan and Decker each scored for their hat tricks. Assists went to Mark Scholten, Darren and Jason Mohle.
