Developer plans industrial mall in Minto

Golden Canadian Homes purchases last available lot in Palmerston Industrial Park

MINTO – Council has approved a land sale to an Orangeville-based developer planning to construct an industrial mall in Palmerston.

The sale of a 3.6-acre parcel of land at 345 Minto Road to Golden Canadian Homes for $126,000 was approved at the July 13 Minto council meeting.

A report from economic development and business manager Belinda Wick-Graham indicates the company plans to create an industrial mall in a building between 23,000 and 60,000 square feet.

Construction is expected to begin in March 2022 and to be completed by December 2022.

Chief Building Official Terry Kuipers noted the property is the last available lot in the Palmerston Industrial Park.

In June, the town sold the last remaining serviced lot in the Harriston Industrial Park.

The lack of currently available industrial land will be addressed as part of an upcoming report on local growth and infrastructure from Minto CAO Derrick Thomsom, which is expected to be presented to council in the fall.
