CWCF partners with the Rural Ontario Institute to measure community vitality

The Centre Wellington Community Foundation (CWCF) has been selected to partner with the Rural Ontario Institute (ROI) to collaborate on their Measuring Community Vitality Initiative in 2016.

This partnership comes on the heels of Centre Wellington’s Vital Signs project that examined key areas where action and attention are needed most, including:

– gap between rich and poor;

– leadership and belonging; and

– arts and culture.

As one of the eight rural communities selected for 2016, Centre Wellington will benefit from access to ongoing collaboration and knowledge transfer opportunities. Specifically, CWCF will receive $15,000 towards consulting services that will be used to assist with the next phase of the Vital Signs process: planning, organizing and implementing Vital Conversations.

Cindy Lindsay, director of member services of Community Foundations Canada explains, “Vital Conversations are facilitated discussions with members of your community. These conversations are a starting point of engagement in Vital Signs focused on exploring emerging issues in your community and aimed at moving your community to action after a Vital Signs report.”
