County Sports champions on display at county museum

In keeping with Canada 150 celebrations, the Wellington County Sports Champions exhibit  features athletes from all over the county through Sports jerseys, memorabilia, medals and photographs.

The exhibit is open until April 9 at Wellington County Museum and Archives.

“We have much to be proud of when we see the outstanding achievements of men, women, youth and children from past and present from 19th century Harriston baseball winners, 1950s swimming sensation Shirley Campbell, the Clifford Swing Skirt softball champions, local lacrosse and curling teams and our present-day NHLers like Nick Spaling and the McGinn brothers,” said Curator Susan Dunlop.

“We have a county full of Sports heroes.”

The museum is located on Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.

The galleries are open weekdays from 9:30am to 4:30pm and on weekends from 1 to 5pm.

Admission is by donation.
