Citizen help needed to fight, reduce crime

The OPP recognizes community engage­ment is a key in  crime pre­ven­tion and strong com­munity part­nerships are an essential element of crime reduction.

The OPP offers pro­grams to citizens and busi­nes­ses, de­signed to foster relationships between the OPP and those it serves, to reduce and prevent crime.

“Our best defence against crime is achieved when every­one plays their part to prevent crime in the community,” said OPP commissioner Julian Fan­tino. “Community members who support the efforts of their police by engaging and mobi­lizing against crime, can and do make a significant difference in community safety across Onta­rio.”
