Sept. 24 marked the ninth annual Celebration Trees dedication with nine new trees planted.

On a very warm and sunny day, family, friends and donors gathered to celebrate and remember honourees at Strathallan Park in Fergus and Drimmie Park and Bissell Park in Elora.

Trees had been planted and plaques installed by the township parks department earlier in the week.

Celebration Trees is a partnership between the Elora Environment Centre, NeighbourWoods on the Grand and Centre Wellington Parks and Recreation.

Since the program started in 2009, 103 trees have been added to eight community parks. For more information, visit eloraenvironmentcentre.ca.
