LONDON –  Three athletes from Fergus’ Emmanuel Christian High School are celebrating after bringing home some hardware from the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) track and field championships earlier this month in London.

ELORA – Grand River Raceway marked a significant milestone in the facility’s history on Wednesday with the official opening of its new 5/8 mile racetrack, one of only two 5/8 tracks in Ontario. Key stakeholders, community members and racing enthusiasts were in attendance for the ribbon cutting.

MOUNT FOREST – A $140,600 Trillium capital grant has been awarded to the Mount Forest Lawn Bowling Club, which officials say will give the organization a much-needed shot in the arm in the form of facility upgrades.

ERIN – The Hillsburgh Erin and District Soccer Club (HEADS) hosted its 12th annual “HEADS Up Cup” soccer tournament at Barbour Field recently.

ELORA – The Elora Rocks Hockey Club got the reprieve it needed from council to start a new season with a clean slate and a pathway out of debt.

FERGUS – Chris Frappier is inviting people to step outside their comfort zones and realize their own strength at the True North True Strength 2024 Open.

GUELPH – Students from Guelph Family Martial Arts returned from the Ontario Provincial Martial Arts Championships, an event that draws top athletes throughout North America and one of the most competitive and longest running events in the country.

LISTOWEL – The Junior Norwell Varsity Reds hockey team competed in a six-team tournament on April 26 in Listowel to end the hockey season.

FERGUS – When Joe Bowley moved to Canada from England nearly 20 years ago, he found a home at the Fergus Highland Rugby Club.

MAPLETON – Mapleton residents Emmett Colwill and Jaxon McGuire are celebrating an amazing season with their U15 ‘A’ Woolwich Wildcat team.

GUELPH – It’s billed as “Canada’s biggest festival of sport,” and it’s expected to bring more than 1,500 athletes to the University of Guelph to compete this summer.

KITCHENER – Centre Wellington residents Bryce Richardson and Tim Porter are heading to the 2024 summer games – the Canada 55+ Summer Games that is.

PALMERSTON – After not winning a championship title since 2003, the Minto 81’s captured the inaugural Ontario Elite Hockey League Senior AA championship this season.

KITCHENER – Norwell District Secondary School students and District 4 gold medalists Marisa H and Dana K travelled to Conestoga College on April 18 to complete in the girls doubles badminton Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association tournament.
