KAHNAWAKE – It only took three games for the Elora Mohawks to beat out the Kahnawake Hunters to become the Ontario Junior B lacrosse champions. And that’s more or less how the entire playoff run went for the team.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Centre Wellington U17 Riverhawks boys box lacrosse team will be heading to London for the Ontario Summer Games, competing against the province’s top teams. 

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Fergus/Elora District Soccer U13 Boys rep team defeated the Orangeville Storm 3-1 on July 24 at Victoria Park in Fergus.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Fergus Elora District Soccer Club has enjoyed a busy summer, with over 1,200 players participating in special needs, youth and adult programs.

ERIN – The U15 Girls Hillsburgh Erin and District Soccer team flew over 1,000km to the midwestern state of Minnesota and came home champions. 

ELORA – The Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club held its first tournament of the season, sponsored by Mountjoy Financial, on June 8.

ELORA – The Elora Mohawks Alumni held their fourth annual golf tournament on June 22 at Wildwinds Golf Links.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The U15 Centre Wellington Riverhawks lacrosse team faced the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks on July 22 in Waterloo for the Zone 8 title.

PALMERSTON – The Palmerston Marlins U11 Teal Team is a group of 13 girls from the Southwestern Ontario area that compete in the Grand Valley League and in the Provincial Women’s Softball Association (PWSA) programs for the 2023 to 2024 season.

ELORA – While other banners representing the history of sports teams in Elora will be reinstalled at the Jefferson Elora Community Centre, banners for the Elora Mohawks Junior ‘B’ lacrosse team will not go up as the township develops a policy on Indigenous-themed sports logos at township facilities.

GUELPH – Lots of people participated in the GOOD Games held at the University of Guelph campus on July 6 and 7.

SALEM – The kettlebell doesn’t fall far from the bench press in the Cox household.

FERGUS – They went into the regional pool tournament as the underdog and came out the victor. And so the Blame Game, a pool team that plays regularly at JJs Diner in Fergus, will be heading to Las Vegas for the World Pool Championships in August.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA - Hundreds of competitors from across the province swam, cycled and ran their way through the Guelph Lake Subaru Triathlon Series held at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area on June 15.

LONDON –  Three athletes from Fergus’ Emmanuel Christian High School are celebrating after bringing home some hardware from the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) track and field championships earlier this month in London.
