FERGUS — On July 22, the Fergus Flippers won at their final swim meet held at the Wilmot Recreation Complex in Baden.

MILTON – Local athletes represented Team Canada during the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany last month.

ROCKWOOD — Bryzen Ace Manipula recently won the 2023 Canadian Billiard and Snooker Association’s Canadian Junior Championships and earned a spot in the World Junior Championships in nine-ball.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Five girls from Wellington County will be headed to Brandon, Manitoba from Aug. 9 to 13 for the U15 girls Canadian Fast Pitch Championships.

MOUNT FOREST – Defending Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) silver medalist Victoria Herrington from Wellington Heights Secondary School, qualified again and advanced to the OFSAA provincial tennis championship this year in Toronto from June 5 to 7.

GUELPH – The Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL) is launching its inaugural seasonal event in the birthplace of the league: Guelph. 

FERGUS – On July 20, the Centre Wellington Lacrosse community, represented by current and former members of the men’s senior Aces, Jr. B Mohawks, Jr. C Thisles, and CW Minor Lacrosse, along with #GetInTouchForHutch, unveiled a “Buddy Bench” at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus.

GUELPH - More than 140 golfers joined United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin on July 3 for the 2nd annual Golf United tournament, presented by Herr Wealth Management.  

Palmerston – Representatives of the Minto Minor Ball U9 team recently received a $2,000 cheque from The Blessings to You Centre in Palmerston.

FERGUS – Blake Willard and Riley Woods, two 15-year-old Fergus youths, were selected to attend this year’s Adrln (Adrenaline) Platinum Cup tournament with Ontario’s Evolve Elite Lacrosse team.
