First case of monkeypox identified in WDGPH region

GUELPH – Public health officials have identified the first case of monkeypox in the region, but stress there is no increased risk to the general public.

Public health begins regular mosquito larvicide program

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The local health unit has begun its regular mosquito larvicide program. Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health announced the start of the program, which will run until early October, in a press release on May 19.

Council concerned about red tape resulting from housing legislation

MINTO – Officials here are concerned some provincial efforts aimed at improving housing affordability are doing more to create red tape than to correct the problem. A report presented to town council by Triton Engineering senior planner Bill White at the June 21 meeting outlines numerous concerns.

Electrical fire destroys trailer near Puslinch Lake

PUSLINCH – An electrical fire has destroyed a trailer at McClintock’s Trailer Resort near Puslinch Lake. Brent Smith, chief fire prevention officer with Puslinch Fire and Rescue, said the call came in at 7:50 on June 21 for a structure fire at McClintock’s Trailer Resort.
