ARTHUR – The Arthur Minor Hockey Awards Night on April 25 celebrated the achievements of young hockey players this past season.

HARRISTON – The Minto Arts Council held an opening night and awards reception for its eighth annual juried art show at the Harriston Public Library on May 8. The show runs until May 30.

KENILWORTH – Wellington North council hosted its fourth Recognition of Outstanding Achievement in Sports Night on May 7 at the council chamber here.

MOUNT FOREST – The Wellington Heights Varsity Boys Soccer team travelled to Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Walkerton on May 2 to compete in a 10-team soccer tournament.

MINTO – Two new businesses in Palmerston received signage grants as approved by Minto council on May 6.

NORTH WELLINGTON – Fergus-based company Wightman donated to two local hospitals last month. 

KENILWORTH – Wellington North council has approved a tentative financing plan to upgrade Arthur’s wastewater treatment plant – with hopes of securing grants to ease pressure on the municipality. 

WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington County OPP officials say they received a report on May 12 about a vehicle found in the ditch at the corner of Line 4 and East West Luther Townline.

WELLINGTON NORTH – Emergency crews responded to an agricultural property near the intersection of Highway 6 and Sideroad 2, south of Mount Forest, on May 10 at about 10am.

CLIFFORD – A community pantry in Clifford is being relocated, due to weather issues. 

PALMERSTON – The Blessings to You Centre in Palmerston is once again happy to support Royal Terrace resident outings by covering the costs of bus transportation for April to December this year.

PALMERSTON – Clark Ag Systems held the grand opening of its Palmerston location on April 25.

MAPLETON – On May 3, Mapleton, Minto and Wellington North fire services got together to tackle the Ontario Fire College Mobile Live Fire Training Unit.
