Businesses provide splash of colour downtown

HARRISTON – The downtown area here will soon be getting  splash of colour courtesy of the local business community.

The Harriston Rising committee is partnering with  Minto-based Steckle’s Produce and Flowers to offer matching summer flower planters to help local businesses beautify the community’s downtown.

Steckle’s is donating $5 from the $42 cost of each pot sold to Harriston Rising for future events.

Somer Antonopolis of the LaunchIt Business Exploration Centre noted Harry Stone’s Social House owner Tony Tsotros has purchased 10 planters to give to local businesses that are struggling and don’t have the revenue to purchase them this year.

“Tony is a dedicated member of the community who is always jumping in to support and assist when needed,” Antonopolis stated.

Businesses that ordered planters by the April 29 deadline can pick them up on May 19 and 20 at Steckle’s.
