Board celebrates "Achieving by Believing"
The Upper Grand District School Board recognized student achievement on June 6 at Centre Wellington District High School during the Student Success: Achieving by Believing Awards ceremony.
The awards are given to students nominated from UGDSB elementary and secondary schools.
In total, 14 elementary students received an Achieving by Believing Award, as did 19 secondary students and eight staff.
The graduates will receive a scholarship for post-secondary training or education. The annual event is now in its 13th year.
County award recipients include:
Elementary
- Kaitlin Desantis from Rockwood Centennial PS;
- Hayden Hanlon from Rockwood Centennial PS; and
- Carson Tonelli from Arthur PS).
Secondary
- Kaitlyn Bennett from Erin District High School;
- Gabrielle Drimmie-Merkus from Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS);
- Holly Jackson from Wellington Heights Secondary School in Mount Forest;
- Alex Richardson from Norwell District Secondary School in Palmerston;
- Renee Sanderson from Wellington Heights;
- Robyn Waechter from CWDHS; and
- Kayla Walach-Gosse from Erin DHS.
Staff
- Dave Griffiths from Wellington Heights; and
- Jenny Ritter from CWDHS.
