Arnott acclaimed as riding's PC candidate

MPP Ted Arnott will once again be the Progressive Conservative candidate in Wellington-Halton Hills in the coming provincial election, expected to be in June of 2018.

Arnott was acclaimed on Jan. 7 at the local PC nomination meeting in Acton.

“Ontario needs change. We need a change of government,” Arnott told those in attendance.

During his remarks, Arnott reflected on his years in the Ontario Legislature and thanked his wife Lisa, his staff and supporters.

He criticized Liberal government policies on hydro, the economy and health care and lauded PC leader Patrick Brown’s efforts.

The veteran MPP also offered his own suggestions for Ontario’s future, and highlighted infrastructure needs in Wellington-Halton Hills.

“The work is not yet done,” he concluded.

At the general meeting that followed the nomination, Puslinch Township resident Glenna Smith was returned as the Wellington-Halton Hills PC Association’s president, and a new executive was installed.

“I want to congratulate Ted. We have an exciting time ahead, as we make plans for the coming provincial election,” Smith said.
