Local creators celebrated at Mount Forest Artisan Showcase

Photographer Shannon Nelson was on hand with a large selection of her photos. Nelson became well known in the area during the COVID-19 pandemic when she shared a daily “feel good” photo on a local Facebook page. Nelson said she loves to hike and take pictures outside in and around Mount Forest.

Cultural Roundtable member and local artist Carol Vair, poses with ribbon artist Althild Neabel. Originally from Denmark, Neabel moved to Mount Forest in 1967, and has since fostered 50 children. She makes colourful and unique ribbon creations for kids.

Karen Waschinski poses with some of her whimsical needle felting creations.

Tina Mountenay from Dobbinton demonstrates her spinning skills. Mountenay has been spinning, knitting and dyeing wool from her own goats for 40 years.
