$52,300 grant for Curling Club

Mount Forest Curling Club will benefit from a $52,300 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to provide upgrades to their ceiling which will reduce energy consumption and improve ice conditions, John Wilkinson, MPP announced today at the Mount Forest Curling Club facility.  MPP Wilkinson was joined by Richard Fearon, local Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Review Team member.

“This Ontario Trillium Foundation grant will help ensure our local curling club can continue to offer residents an opportunity to enjoy their favourite sport,” stated Wilkinson.  “As a community we all want to reduce our energy consumption and also protect the environment.  By upgrading the Curling Club facility our community will benefit as local Sports enthusiasts continue to be physically active. Trillium grants help make this happen, particularly in rural Ontario.”

“On behalf of the residents of Wellington North I would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their grant for the Mount Forest Curling Club,” said Ray Tout, Mayor.  “Keeping our facilities upgraded and energy efficient along with helping residents stay active is so important.”

“On behalf of the Mount Forest Curling Club I would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their financial support,” said Brian McQuarrie, President.  “Reducing energy use is important to everyone and while this grant will be used to insulate and replace the ceiling over the curling ice, the second phase of our project will see the exterior walls also renovated and insulated. Without the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation our club would not have the financial resources to be able to complete these renovations.”
