4-H: Sewing it all together

Meeting five of Mimosa’s Sewing with Fleece 4-H club started with the 4-H pledge, roll call, press report and then secretary report.

Members were shown how an embroider machine would create fancy designs when programmed to do so. Many members got to test and use this machine, and then keep their designs.

Our next skill was to learn how to fill and sew a broken seam by hand without it being noticed.

Members started their master projects and worked, with great concentration, on their fleece hats, mittens, gloves and scarves.

The only difficult part was picking out which fleece colours and designs we liked the best for these! We closed the meeting with the 4-H motto.

Next week plans are to finish up projects to then display in this year’s Erin Fall Fair.
