Save Our Water and Wellington Water Watchers continue their campaign to “Say No to Nestlé” and ask Premier Wynne to deny the Middlebrook well altogether.

Late last year the province announced a moratorium on new water taking permits until January of 2019.

At the same time, the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change began a review of the regulations that govern permits to take water for bottling.

On April 21, the MOECC released new guidelines about the process.

However, a press release from Save Our Water and Wellington Water Watchers suggests the guidelines offer nothing new to stop a new permit at Middlebrook.

The groups are hosting a meeting in the lower section of the Elora Legion at 7pm on May 31 to provide an update on what they say is happening in Centre Wellington.
