Window Wonderland benefits EWCS

Creating Possibilities Art Sale Nov. 16 to Dec. 2

Turn of Fate Studio and other local artisans have teamed together to create a special fundraiser benefitting East Wellington Community Services (EWCS)  in which residents can bid on specialty art items in a closed bid email format. The art items for auction will be unveiled as part of the Window Wonderland event on Nov. 16 at the Bistro Riviere on the patio, and will continue to be displayed in a picture form at the Bistro and Erin Post Office in their windows. On Dec. 2, the winning bids will be revealed and winners contacted.

This is a great way to support EWCS and purchase some beautiful, local art pieces that would make excellent gifts, just in time for Christmas.

EWCS Christmas Hampers

Christmas may be almost two  months away, but the elves at EWCS are already starting to prepare for Christmas and the annual Christmas Hamper program.

Those wishing to participate by sponsoring a family and helping make someone’s Christmas brighter, contact Erika Westcott or Darci Burgess for more details.

There are many ways to help, from sponsoring gifts or Christmas meals for a family or a combination of both.

So many families struggle at Christmas and this program is one way EWCS continues to support community members in need.

Fitness event on Oct. 13

On Oct. 13, Riverdale Fitness Mill hosted a fitness event benefitting the EWCS Christmas Hamper program. Members participated in different fitness classes and the admission fee collected was put toward their sponsorship for the EWCS Christmas Hampers. Over $2,000 was raised, and members are continuing to collect donations.

“We wanted to help,” said Sandy Irwin, Riverdale Fitness Mill general manager.

“With so many families already struggling, we wanted to help make Christmas a happy time for those in our community”.
