Wellington North Farmers”™ Market returns for fifth season on May 25

The Wellington North Farmers’ Market opens for its fifth season on May 25.

This year the market will run on Friday afternoons from 3 to 6:30pm at Victory Community Centre, King Street East in Mount Forest.

Opening day will be on May 25 and closing day will be Oct. 5.

“A farmers’ market is a good opportunity for the community to connect. It allows us to buy from and support our local farmers and producers, thus contributing to our local economy,” said Wellington North economic development officer Dale Small.

“We are pleased to give our residents and visitors the opportunity to experience agriculture close up and hear the story of where their food came from, straight from the person that grew and prepared it,” Small added.

Collaborative effort

The Wellington North Farmers’ Market is once again being offered through the collaboration and support of participating vendors, the Township of Wellington North, Wellington North Cultural Roundtable, Mount Forest Victory Church, Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce, Arthur Chamber of Commerce, MARCC Apparel, Forest Physiotherapy, Print One and Taste Real.

Organizers offer a special thank you to Pastor Harry Engel of the Victory Community Church who for the fifth year is continuing on in his role of market manager.

Interested vendors are asked to contact Dale Small at the Township of Wellington North.
