Wellington North councillor Steve McCabe elected to ROMA board of directors
KENILWORTH – Wellington North councillor Steve McCabe is joining the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) board of directors for the 2023-27 term.
ROMA members voted for representatives of 10 zones at its Toronto conference on Jan. 23.
“I am both thrilled and honoured to have been elected by my peers to serve as the zone two representative," McCabe stated in a township press release.

"I look forward to helping bring a strong rural influence on current and emerging issues facing rural Ontario municipalities."
According to its website, ROMA works “collaboratively with Ontario’s municipal community to ensure that provincial funding, policies and programs consider rural perspectives and unique challenges.”
"We are proud to support councillor McCabe while he helps bring the rural perspective to the provincial table," Mayor Andy Lennox stated in the release.
