Weekend fire causes $500,000 damage

A Saturday night blaze destroyed a farm equipment storage building on the 6th Line south of Inverhaugh.

Centre Wellington training officer Jonathan Karn said the alarm came in at around 11:40pm on Jan. 28.

Firefighters from Elora and Fergus stations responded with 18 firefighters on scene for approximately six hours.

Damage

Karn said an equipment storage building for a large farming operation on the 6th Line was destroyed.

The total loss is valued at around $500,000.

The fire was discovered by an employee of the company who lives next door.

Karn stated the fire is not considered suspicious and there will be no further investigation into the incident.
