Two people injured in motorcycle-car collision

On Aug. 1 at 11:16pm emergency crews responded to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in the intersection of Wellington Roads 16 and 109 in Wellington North Township.

Wellington County OPP officials say a 1977 Pontiac Lamont was southbound on Wellington Road 16 when it collided with a 1999 Honda motorcycle that was travelling westbound on Wellington Road 109.

The 48-year-old male driver of the motorcycle from Brethour Township was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a Toronto hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old male driver of the Pontiac from the Town of Erin was transported to a local hospital as a precaution and later released.

Sections of Wellington Roads 16 and 109 were closed temporarily while the collision was investigated by Wellington County OPP Technical Collision Investigators and the West Region OPP Highway Safety Division Reconstructionist.

Police are asking anyone that witnessed the collision to call 1-888-310-1122.
