Police here are investigation two recent thefts from construction sites in the area.

OPP Constable Cheri Rockefeller reported that on Feb. 4  at about 7:30am police received reports of two separate thefts on properties under construction on Aberdeen Street and McQueen Street.

She said police investigation revealed that sometime between Feb. 3 at 5pm and Feb. 4 at 7:30am, thieves entered secured trailers at both locations and stole various power and hand tools as well as construction equipment with approximate values of $5,000 and $9,000 respectively.

Rockefeller said the OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that may be sitting in neighbours’ driveways when they are not at home or vehicles that are travelling slowly up and down roads. She added that citizens should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers and direction of travel and report that immediately to their local police service.

She added it is important for that information to reach police when suspects may still be in the area.
