The 2018 Erin Eco-Film Festival is underway.
Five award-winning environmental documentaries are being aired at the Erin Legion until April 25.
The event is organized by Climate Change Action Group of Erin and Transition Erin.
Entry is free, and donations are accepted. Doors open at 6:30pm with films beginning at 7pm.
The schedule and descriptions of the films are:
– Feb. 21: Age of Consequences. An investigation into how climate change threatens global stability, with a call to action by the U.S. military;
– March 7: Awake, a Dream from Standing Rock. The story of Native-led resistance to an oil pipeline that forever changed grassroots activism – and possibly the future of our planet;
– March 21: The Peel Project. By canoe, six young artists explore a pristine Canadian watershed – the Peel – that’s under continues threat of development;
– April 11: How to Let Go of the World and Love all things Climate Can’t Change. Funny and tragic, inspiring and enlightening, this film takes us on a global tour to meet local “warriors” committed to reversing climate change; and
– April 25: Unfractured. A hopeful documentary about fighting climate injustice with your whole heart.
