Township nearing deal for boundary roads

Wellington North is in the midst of finalizing its boundary roads with it’s neighbours.

Works Superintendent Gary Williamson recently reported that he and David Hill met with the East Luther Grand Valley clerk and road superintendent and that an agreement should be coming soon.

Also Southgate Township has indicated that it is also satisfied with what Wellington North has proposed.

Williamson is hoping to hear back from Mapleton and Centre Wellington Townships in the near future.

Truck signs

A concern was raised last month regarding trucks using Frederick Street from George Street to Charles Street as a shortcut in Arthur.

Williamson said the department could install signs but they still need to be enforced and it is most likely local trucks using the route, so the signs might not have an effect.

The committee agreed to have a No Trucks Allowed signs installed at the end of each street.
