Tony McManus headlines Habitat fundraiser on Jan.12

The community of musicians and music-lovers at the Elora Acoustic Cafe are hosting a fundraiser to support Centre Wellington’s Habitat for Humanity on Jan. 12.

The event will feature renowned Celtic guitarist and Elora resident, Tony McManus.

Recognized throughout the world as the leading guitarist in Celtic music, McManus has appeared in Nashville in the “All Star Guitar Night” featuring Les Paul. The show is a rare chance to see him play locally.

McManus will be joined by Callisto, a trio of local musicians Tricia Brubacher, Julie Corey and Peter Balka (aka Peter Hillam).

Nick Gush, from Fergus, has  toured with a number of bands including Freedom, Creef, Southern Reign and the Sam Drucker Band. The last few years he has been focused on his solo career often joined by Pam Davies on vocal.

Out of the Blue is a trio made up of Paul McKeracher, Mike Salfi and Guy Stephan.

Fergus-based professional touring singer and songwriter Rich Burnett has jazz and country roots, and has performed as a backup and session man.

Steve Royall plays music that spans genres and performs locally at various venues.

Rob Morris will be the sound-man for the show

All musicians are volunteering their performance, with all proceeds going directly to the Centre Wellington Habitat for Humanity  Build.

The show takes place at the Elora Legion on Jan. 12, from 8pm to 11pm.  Tickets are $20, available at Mill St. Bakery and Sante in Elora, or RBC and Roxanne’s Reflections in Fergus.
