Thieves take flashing light, try to remove stop sign

Police are looking for clues after the theft of a flashing light and the attempted theft of a stop sign here.

On May 27, Wellington County OPP received a report that sometime overnight an attempt was made to steal the north bound oversized stop sign at the intersection of Jones Baseline and Mill Road in Guelph-Eramosa.

OPP officials say the pole was bent in this attempt and police also report that weeks earlier, at the same intersection, the flashing red light (with a solar panel) on top of the stop sign was stolen.

Police say the light and panel are valued at approximately $2,500.
