The pumpkin patch comes to Sensational Elora Oct. 6

The annual event that has children planting seeds and eagerly awaiting a giant pumpkin is back this year for another day of fun.

Sensational Pumpkin Day, on Oct. 6, is part of the Sensational Elora festival that has grown to become a family tradition.

The free event invites young gardeners and pumpkin artists to celebrate all things pumpkin.

Whether people have grown their own pumpkin with their Sensational Elora seeds, offered earlier in the year, or they just want to show off one they have grown from their own packets, the event will be a showcase of the pumpkin harvest.

Artists who want to turn a pumpkin into an artistic creation can get their hands dirty and impress the crowds with their unique creations. There is something for kids of all ages.

There will be prizes for all shapes, sizes and colours of pumpkins and another competition for pumpkin carving by age range.  Adults are encouraged to get involved and carve too.

There will be a carving “artist in residence” and a fashion show by the Tutu in You sewing group, using recycled materials to create funky fashions.  The Boo Radley Project will be on hand as musical guests.

There will be food vendors and plenty to see and do.

Details for competitions will be posted online at www.sensationalelora.com.

Sensational Pumpkin Day is free for all ages. It takes place Oct. 6 starting at 10am in Bissell Park.
