Fergus merchants are hosting a Teddy Bear Gala in to raise funds for downtown beautification on June 20.
The event will run from 10am to 2pm on St. Andrew Street.
Hosted by downtown businesses the gala will feature face painting, coloring, a puppet show and other activities.
Tanya Graham of the Grape House said the gala is a “BYO-bear” event, with youngsters encouraged to bring their own bears downtown and participate in a Teddy bear contest.
Graham said the event, a fundraiser for downtown beautification projects, will revive the spirit of the Teddy Bear Picnic’s held in the community a few years back.
