Apparently one can have too much of a good thing.
Minto councillors recently looked at quotes for upcoming team building workshops offered to municipalities.
Council had the option of discussing the item or consider approving one of the bids for a team building workshop to be held in the fall of 2008 or the winter of 2009.
While Mayor David Anderson believed the last session attended by members of council was well attended and that they got a lot out of it, others wondered if another one might be too soon.
Council last participated in a similar workshop earlier this year.
Deputy-Mayor Judy Dirksen suggested early in 2009 would be fine, “since we’ve had one this year already.”
Anderson said the key issue is more whether councillors are practicing what they learned.
“There’s no point in the workshop if they are not implemented.”
Council’s motion was to postpone discussion until later in the fall – possibly October or November.
Councillor Wayne Martin asked that if at that time council might be open to other options – other than just the two workshop quotes received.
“It is reasonable,” Dirksen said.
