Take Back the Night scheduled for Sept. 27
Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis is planning its annual Take Back the Night event on Sept. 27. It will start at 6pm at Marianne’s Park on Gordon and will include a march and a rally.
A women’s drum circle will begin the event, there will be a spoken word performance and a piece about men supporting the movement.
This year CFRU the UofG radio station will be broadcasting live from Marianne’s Park and providing music for the event.
“This event is only possible because of the people who attend, chant, bring signs and show their support of a community free of violence,” organizers say. Those interested in volunteering can email wiceducator@gwwomenincrisis.org.
