Steens Dairy celebrating its 68th anniversary

Wellington County’s very own Steen’s Dairy is celebrating its 68th anniversary as well as the second anniversary of its 20,000 square foot Guelph processing facility.

Company officials say the Steen’s brand has defied the odds and survived the ongoing consolidation of Canada’s dairy industry.

Starting in the mid-1940s, larger national and multi-national corporations went on a buying spree acquiring many local dairies. This was done with the purpose of either continuing to market their brands, or phasing them out altogether.

But companies like Steen’s Dairy, which produces milk and cream from cows on farms across Wellington and Dufferin counties, remain trusted by its loyal customers across central and southwestern Ontario to deliver the very highest quality and freshness.

In addition to the farms being close to where Steen’s customers are, so too is the company’s new processing facility in Guelph.
