Smart Cities celebration - The first place finish of Wellington County and the City of Guelph in the Smart Cities Challenge was celebrated as the Cultural Moment at the May 23 county council meeting. The local proposal, Our Food Future, Canada’s first circular food economy, was selected as the top entry in its population category (up to 500,000) at an awards gala in Ottawa on May 14. The win comes with a $10-million prize from Infrastructure Canada.
