Police here are seeking a bold shoplifter.

On March 9 at approximately 3:58pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a shoplifting incident that had just occurred at the Canadian Tire store located on Tower Street S. in Fergus, Centre Wellington Township.

Rockefeller reported that the investigation revealed a man entered the store and approached an employee to inquire about tires for his vehicle. While the employee prepared a quote, the man left the store with a flat screen television and a vacuum.

The employee confronted the man in the parking lot as he approached his vehicle and asked to see a receipt for the items. The man stated he did not have a receipt, loaded the items in his vehicle and drove off. The vehicle was described as a dark coloured hatchback.

The suspect’s description:

- Caucasian male;

- heavy set;

- an East coast accent; and

- wearing black pants with a black winter coat with a white emblem on the shoulder.

The stolen property is:

- a vProscan 32 inch LED television; and

- an iRobot 630 vacuum.
