Sensational Elora presents Aura Rully at Elora Centre for the Arts

Sensational Elora presents its first jazz event of the fall season at Elora Centre for the Arts at 75 Melville Street in Elora, Sept. 17.

The Minaraovich Gallery will be transformed into an intimate, licenced, jazz club for the evening, presenting internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Aura Rully.

Rully will be backed by an all-star group of musicians: Paul Hoffert, founder of Lighthouse on keyboards; Paul Intson, composer for film and TV on bass; Bruce Cassidy, Lighthouse and Blood Sweat and Tears on EVI; with special guests Alan Ralston on trumpet and flugelhorn and Randall Coryell on drums.

Rully toured around the world with Duke Ellington and also with jazz giants Quincy Jones, Thad Jones, and Mel Lewis. She performed with Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Chet Baker, and other jazz greats.

Kirk McElwain, chair of Sensational Elora, says that “Sensational Elora is honoured to have Aura, who has played in Carnegie Hall, Newport Jazz and around the world join us at Elora Centre for the Arts, particularly with such a talented group of musicians.”

Tickets for the event are $20 and are on sale in Elora at the Shepherd’s Pub, Santé Natural Foods and Box Social or online at http://www.sensationalelora.com/index.cfm?page=eventslanding.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
