Sensational Elora makes donation to Food Bank

Sensational Elora and the Elora Empty Bowls and Glasses project has announced that this year’s donation to the Centre Wellington Food Bank was $13,040.

That includes a matching donation from Scotiabank for $4,000.

Sensational Elora officials thanked the community for its support.

Partners in the 2009 event were: Centre Wellington W Rotary, Scotiabank, Savour Elora Fergus, Slow Food Elora, The Elora General Store, Styll Gallery, The Opimian Society, the participating restaurants, the Soup Off chefs, everyone who bought a bowl or glass and, of course, the potters and glass artists that donated bowls and glasses.

Sensational Elora officials hoped the donation would help to alleviate the burden being faced by the Food Bank of huge increase in demand on its services. The actual donation was made in December to assist with the holiday need; the formal presentation was delayed.

Sensational Elora is currently planning its 2010 program and has many opportunities for involvement by the community.
