Santa hitting the streets of Fergus on Dec. 3
Guess who is coming to Fergus on Dec. 3? It’s Santa Claus, of course, and numerous community groups will be taking part as well. Bundle up, bring a food donation for the food bank and a letter for Santa, and enjoy the spectacle. Advertiser file photos

FERGUS – The family of service clubs in Fergus is hosting this year’s Santa Claus parade with the theme “A Family Christmas.”

The Lions, Optimists, Kinsmen and Rotary Clubs of Fergus will present the parade on Dec. 3 at 1:30pm.

Those in the parade are asked to assemble at the A.O. Smith parking lot on Hill Street at 12:30pm.

The parade will head west on Hill Street, south on Maple Street, east on St. Andrew Street West, north on St. David Street North, and then west again on Hill Street to finish where it began.

Food bank volunteers will be collecting food donations along the route and postal workers will collect letters for Santa.

So give that some thought, kids, before heading out. And be sure to include your return address.

There is no fee for entering a float but all floats must be registered. Visit any of the service clubs’ websites to download a registration form. There will be prizes for the best float. Questions can be emailed to Fergus.Santa.Parade@gmail.com.
