Run for the Children of Haiti

For more than 25 years the congregation of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fergus has been intimately involved in the lives of Haitians in the area in and around Haiti’s second biggest city, Cap Haitien.

It has evolved from collecting up school and medical supplies as well as clothing and toiletries, and driving them down to Fort Pierce, Florida for a short flight into Cap Haitien to one where upwards of $40,000 is now sent each year to assist four schools in the education of more than 1,000 students from kindergarten to Grade 6.

On Oct. 15 the church will host its annual the Race for the Children of Haiti, a 5km run/walk that raises approximately $10,000 each year.

Without those funds each year many of those attending the four schools would not have the means to do so.

For more information, to register for the Run/Walk and to learn how you can help the children of Haiti, visit the church website at www.standrewsfergus.org or call St. Andrews at 519-843-3565.
